FMSCA Fake Registration Emails
The FMSCA is encouraging its customers and stakeholders to be on the lookout for phishing scams. Recently, an email has been sent to registered entities by someone pretending to be FMCSA, requesting the completion of fake forms, which ask for sensitive information such as ones SSN and USDOT PIN. This scam email also threatens legal action and impending fines, which are not an FMCSA practice.
The FMCSA does not require such information on the official FMCSA forms. If you or someone you know has received this email DO NOT fill out attached forms; instead always refer to official FMCSA forms and the online portal.
Millions in Grants Awarded to Boost Trucking Workforce Programs
The U.S. Department of Transportation’s FMCSA has been awarded grants totaling nearly $3.5 million. These grants are being distributed to 27 colleges and other commercial driver’s license (CDL) training programs through the agency’s Commercial Motor Vehicle Operator Safety Training Grant Program. This funding will help improve roadway safety by providing additional training for current CDL holders and creating new pathways for career opportunities.
